23 December 2019 - "A Christmas Concert Fit for a Cat"
Christmas trees are always a magical experience, especially when they’re decorated with a musical ornament that transforms the world around it into a glittering concert hall! For Mr. Sprinkles, it’s the perfect way to spend an evening (besides annoying Melanie in some small way)!
Text version of today's comic for screen readers
Panel 1: Melanie, Andrea, and Kay are gathered around a brightly lit Christmas tree. Kay is holding a cookie and almost looks like an ornament on the tree, Andrea has a happy expression as she holds a wrapped gift, and Melanie has a questioning look as she reaches for the tree with her free hand. Her other hand is holding a hot cocoa filled with marshmallows, a candy cane, whipped cream, and shaved chocolate. Melanie is also wearing a pair of candy cans on her head. Musical lines are coming from the tree.
Melanie: "Andrea, your Christmas tree is playing music! Did you get a new ornament of something?"
Andrea: "Yes!"
Panel 2: A close up of inside of the tree, showing a content Mr. Sprinkles sitting in a cat-sized recliner, wearing a festive sweater and a warm red blanket draped over his legs, and has a plate of cat-sized cookies on his lap. An ornament is next to him that depicts a cat playing a grand piano, and has musical lines and notes coming from it. There are also Christmas lights in the background, giving the scene a magical, relaxing feeling.
Andrea, off panel: "It's a cat playing classical music!"
Panel 3: Andrea is unrolling a spool of festive ribbon behind a box filled with gift wrapping supplies. Melanie quickly leans back in surprise as a mischievious Mr. Sprinkles pops out of the tree and swipes the candy cane out of her cocoa mug. Kay watches from her vantage point on the tree while eating the cookie she's holding.
Andrea: "Isn't it great? Mr. Sprinkles loves it too!"
Melanie: "I see!"
