Back in the 90s, we took state standardized tests on scantron sheets with #2 pencils (and the cutest shaped erasers), so I'm not sure if today's testers get their test results instantly or not. If today's test results are instant, then just picture Andrea saying (in panel 3) "How did you do, Melanie?"
Next week is the finale of the "April is State Testing Month" series. In it you'll meet some new characters! Exciting!!
Text version of today's comic for screen readers
Panel 1: View from behind Andrea and Melanie, who are sitting at computers in a classroom. A teacher is at the front of the class with a red tablet, and on the whiteboard behind her it says "State testing starts today! Good luck!" with a smiley face.
Teacher: "You have 90 minutes for this part. Time starts now!"
Panel 2: Andrea and Melanie have somewhat troubled expressions as they focus on the test on the computers. Other students have the same expressions. A red gradient is used as the background color to reinforce the tense feeling of the panel.
Sound FX: "Tap Tap Click Tap Click Click Tap"
Panel 3: Comic cuts to Melanie and Andrea sitting at a table eating lunch. Melanie lookes annoyed while Andrea has a questioning expression. Andrea is also holding a sandwich, and just the tip of Mr. Sprinkle's head and paw can be seen between the two girls.
Melanie: "Ugh, Today's test was way too hard."
Andrea: "How do you think you did, Melanie?
Panel 4: Still at the lunch table, Melanie turns away from Andrea with an evasive expression and grabs her beverage thermos. Andrea looks unsurprised and Mr. Sprinkles' head is visible now as he slides Melanie's lunch box closer to the table edge towards him.
Melanie: "There's still time to study before the next one, right Andrea?"
Andrea: "That bad, huh...."
